El Salvador sends detained Venezuelans home in swap for Americans
EL SALVADOR, JUL 21 – The prisoner swap involved 252 Venezuelans released from El Salvador's CECOT prison amid human rights concerns and 10 Americans freed from Venezuelan detention, officials said.
- The Trump administration completed a prisoner exchange in July 2025, returning about 238 Venezuelans detained in El Salvador's CECOT prison to Venezuela in exchange for Americans held there.
