Eight remanded in custody in DMK functionary’s murder case

Eight persons accused in the murder of a DMK functionary, Murugan of Mettupatti near Natham in Dindigul district, were sent to judicial custody on Friday. The victim, who was a licensed contractor in Dindigul Corporation, was murdered in a moving car by an armed gang on Thursday. Though the investigations were under way, police suspected that some financial disputes over a temple administration was the reason for the murder.
