- The two-day summit, themed "Strengthening Mechanisms for Conflict Prevention and Resolution in Africa," follows the 26th Extraordinary Session of the AU Executive Council held Saturday to prepare for leaders' deliberations.
- Delegates will address critical issues, including sustainable African financing for peace and security, stronger responses to terrorism, and improving the effectiveness of the African Peace and Security Architecture and African Governance Architecture.
- Upon arriving in Luanda, Shettima received a briefing from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and officials of the Nigerian Mission on priority issues expected to feature at the summit.
