The Prime Minister said Malaysia and Thailand could do more to strengthen bilateral trade following the opening of the route connecting the Bukit Kayu Hitam ICQS with the Sadao CIQ Complex.
Anutin Charnvirakul signed an announcement from the Ministry of Interior opening a new permanent border crossing at Sadao, opposite the Bukit Kayu Hitam border crossing in Malaysia, and closing the old border crossing. This order is effective from July 11, 2026 onwards.
