EE Launches Scam Guard After Already Blocking 169 Million Scams Since 2024
The upgraded service adds AI Triple-Lock Protection and tools that EE says helped block 169 million scam and spam attempts since 2024.
On 29th Apr 2026, EE unveiled an upgraded Scam Guard, its most powerful fraud protection service to date, available to Pay Monthly mobile customers for £2 per month on a 30-day rolling contract.
The launch follows data from Cifas, the UK's leading fraud prevention service, which revealed a record 444,000 cases recorded to the National Fraud Database in 2025, a 6% increase on 2024.
At the heart of the new service is AI Triple-Lock Protection, powered by Norton's Genie AI engine, comprising Safe Email, Safe SMS, and Safe Web to block threats across multiple channels.
Malcolm Cubitt, Director of Product at EE Mobile, said: "Fraud in the UK is at a record high, with AI making scams more convincing and harder to detect," noting additional protections including Call Labelling and Mobile Device Security.
Looking ahead, EE expects the new service to prevent at least twice as many scams over the next 12 months, building on wider cyber security solutions that blocked 1.6 billion attempts to access malicious domains in 2025.
