The lawyer of the former Minister of Economics again today defended that Manuel Pinho did not practice any crime of corruption, regarding the appeal to the Supreme Court, whose decision was set for 15 October.
This is the alleged receipt by the former governor of some EUR 4.9 million, including a monthly payment of about EUR 15 thousand while he joined the first government of José Socrates.
Manuel Pinho appealed to the Supreme Court of Justice for 10 years' imprisonment, after the sentence was confirmed by the Lisbon Court of Relations in April 2025.
