Ecopetrol has begun shipping marine fuel with 2% biodiesel to wholesale distributors in the Colombian Caribbean. Initially, an average of 10,500 barrels per day will be delivered from the Cartagena Refinery. Blending the fuel with vegetable oil reduces atmospheric emissions by approximately 27,000 tons per year.
