Successions: the Costs for Transactions on the Account of a Deceased Will No Longer Exceed 850 Euros
This amendment comes into force following the publication of a decree on Thursday in the Official Journal.

A law had already prohibited banks from applying charges from 13 November 2025 if the deceased was a minor or if the total balance of the accounts was below a certain threshold.
In no case will banks be able to charge a bank fee of more than 850 euros on behalf of a deceased relative, according to a decree published on Thursday, which in some cases excludes any possibility
No more bad surprises for the heirs: as early as November 2025, banks will no longer be able to charge more than 850 euros to manage the account of a deceased, even in the event of a complex succession.
