On 1 January, Bulgaria adopted the euro, becoming the 21st member of the Eurogroup, the monetary and banking club created in 1998. For this "small" country, a member of the European Union since 2007 and with a modest GDP (€100 billion in 2025), this is a historic decision and an important effort.
