EasyJet pulls out of Leeds Bradford Airport - axing all flights from early January
The airline cited a network review and will refund or rebook customers after cutting five routes, including services to Spain, Paris and Belfast.
EasyJet confirmed it will cease all operations at Leeds Bradford Airport on January 5, 2027, eliminating routes to Barcelona, Paris, Belfast, Malaga, Mallorca, and Geneva.
The airline attributed the withdrawal to a network review, stating it aims to 'focus on maintaining and developing' its 'most popular' routes after reporting a 70% fall in half-year profit in July due to fuel costs linked to the Iran conflict.
Customers with bookings after January 5 are offered a full refund or free transfer to flights from an alternative airport, with EasyJet contacting affected passengers to provide advance notice.
Leeds Bradford Airport remains fully active with eight other carriers including Ryanair and Jet2, which already operates direct flights to Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Barcelona.
Days after this announcement, EasyJet agreed to a £5.7 billion takeover by US private equity firm Apollo, one of the largest deals in airline history, while the airport previously scrapped a planned £150 million terminal expansion in 2022.
