Eastern Shore Rail Trail opens: First 4-mile section now connects Cape Charles to Cheriton

The first four miles of the Eastern Shore Rail Trail are officially open, connecting Cape Charles and Cheriton as work continues toward a planned 49-mile trail stretching to Hallwood.

Years of planning, fundraising and construction culminated Thursday with the ribbon-cutting for the first completed section of the Eastern Shore Rail Trail.
