EastEnders star set for 'dramatic' exit in coming weeks after 'short stint' on soap
Ancona’s role was always planned as limited, and Bea Pollard’s storyline has already seen her steal thousands from Honey Mitchell.
Award-Winning actress Ronni Ancona is set to leave the hit BBC soap EastEnders in the coming weeks. An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed the departure, stating the role of Bea Pollard was always planned as a limited run.
The 56-year-old joined the show late last year, debuting in January 2026 as Linda Carter's friend. With a career spanning more than 30 years, Ancona brings credits including Last Tango, Halifax, Penelope, Skins, The Trip, and Big Impression.
Bea quickly found herself "in the heart of the drama" on EastEnders, revealed as a "twisted" villain who stole thousands from Honey Mitchell before putting her in hospital.
Ben brought Ancona in after former boss Chris Clenshaw departed, with production extending her short stint for a dramatic storyline unfolding over the next few weeks.
Ancona previously said she was "honoured" to join the iconic institution, adding that although she "loved her time in Albert Square," she is now departing as planned.
