Preston Judd scored in the 2nd and 12th minutes as San Jose ended a four-game winless streak and earned its first win at Providence Park in 20 tries.
On Saturday night, the San Jose Earthquakes beat the Portland Timbers 3-1 at Providence Park, snapping a four-game winless streak.
Preston Judd scored in the second and 12th minutes, while Daniel Munie added a goal; Judd now leads the team with 11 goals this season.
The win marked San Jose's first victory at Providence Park in 20 tries since 2011, and the Quakes' 10-3-2 record stands as their best start in 52-year history.
Reflecting on the match, San Jose coach Bruce Arena said, "We're banged up, and we've had a loaded schedule," as the team enters a two-month FIFA World Cup break.
The team sits tied with Vancouver for the most points in the Western Conference with 32, and the Earthquakes' next match is July 22 against Orlando City at PayPal Park.
