(Reuters) -An earthquake of magnitude 5.93 struck West Papua region of Indonesia on Saturday, the German Research Center for Geosciences (GFZ) said. The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6 miles), GFZ said. (Reporting by Pretish M J in Bengaluru)
A 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck 60 kilometers northeast of the Indonesian city of Sorong. According to data from the U.S. Geological Survey, the tremor, which occurred at a depth of about 10 kilometers, caused no casualties or damage.
The German Research Institute for Geosciences stated that a 5.93-degree earthquake struck the West Papua area of Indonesia on Saturday. The centre added that the earthquake occurred 10 kilometres deep.
