An earthquake of 5.0 degrees hit the Richter scale in Kauchian province in Yibin city, Sichuan province, south-western China this morning. China's earthquake network centre reported that the earthquake centre was monitored at the crossroads of the 28.52 degrees north latitude and 104.68 degrees east longitude and 8 kilometres deep.
A second magnitude 5 earthquake struck on Wednesday the Chinese city of Yibin, in the southwestern province of Sichuan, according to China's Seismological Network Center, after hours before another earthquake of equal intensity affected the area.
A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck China's southwestern Sichuan province on Wednesday morning, causing widespread panic. The epicenter was in Gaoxian County and its depth was recorded at approximately 8 kilometers below ground. According to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), the quake struck at 6:12 a.m. China's earthquake administration immediately implemented a Level 3 emergency response and began rescue and relief efforts.
