Eagles offensive lineman Lane Johnson inactive against Rams because of personal reasons
Rookie Markel Bell is expected to start at right tackle as Philadelphia loses its two-time All-Pro to a late personal absence.
Philadelphia Eagles right offensive tackle Lane Johnson is inactive for Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Rams due to personal reasons, announced 90 minutes before kickoff.
Rookie Markel Bell, a third-round selection in the 2026 draft, will start at right tackle with veteran Fred Johnson also sidelined by a knee injury, leaving no active reserve tackles.
Johnson previously stated this 14th season would "probably" be his last, citing how "as you get older, things change in your life, priorities. Your children get older, your parents get older."
The Eagles already ruled out wide receiver DeVonta Smith, linebacker Zack Baun, and tight end Dallas Goedert, entering the matchup with a significantly depleted offensive and defensive lineup.
A two-time Super Bowl champion and six-time Pro Bowler, Johnson remains a lock for the Pro Football Hall of Fame despite the uncertainty his sudden absence creates for the 2026 season.
