Dyson Just Launched a Hair Dryer That Fits in Your Carry-On
The compact dryer is 25% lighter, adapts to 100-240 volts and keeps compatibility with existing Supersonic attachments, Dyson said.
- Dyson has launched the Dyson Supersonic Travel, featuring universal voltage compatibility that automatically adapts from 100 to 240 volts, eliminating the need for converters while traveling internationally.
- Ten years ago, Dyson launched the original $400 Supersonic, but its bulky size challenged frequent travelers. This new iteration is 32 per cent smaller and 25 per cent lighter at 0.72lbs, designed to fit carry-on luggage.
- The device retains 75% of the original's drying efficiency and is fully compatible with existing Supersonic magnetic attachments. Priced at $300, it costs roughly $150 to $250 less than other models in Dyson's lineup.
- Available for purchase today in Australia and from Dyson directly, the unit's launch dates in other markets remain to be confirmed. This expands the brand's travel-focused offerings beyond its existing hair tech portfolio.
- Following the company's expansion into hair oils and styling creams, this release strengthens its position in the premium hair gadget market. The brand competes against rivals like Shark, which offers the Shark Flexstyle.
