Durham ag-biotech Oerth Bio shuts down after failed funding round

Oerth Bio, a Durham biotech launched in 2019 by Bayer and Connecticut-based Arvinas to apply protein-degradation technology to crop protection, is closing after a failed funding round. The 45-employee firm will auction lab equipment in December. Bayer said it still sees long-term agricultural potential in Oerth’s PROTAC technology.
