Dukes carry a different look, but remain the standard in Sun Belt

Marshall is the last Sun Belt team to defeat James Madison, with that coming in the league title game back in 2024. The Herd start conference play Saturday with a tough matchup against the unbeaten Dukes.

Game Note Gems: Road team has won each SBC matchup between Marshall and Dukes

Ahead of Marshall’s Sun Belt Conference opener at James Madison, the Herd has an edge in history. The road team has won each SBC matchup between the two since 2022. Marshall leads the all-time series 4-2 with two wins for the Herd coming in 1987 and 1994 before the two became regional rivals.
