The invasive alien Japanese beetle has been found again near last year's discovery in the municipality of Lukovica. The pest has been included in the list of quarantine pests, the Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection Administration reports.

The Japanese beetle continues to spread in Switzerland. As the holidays approach, the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG) implemented a new emergency plan and issued a call for vigilance on Thursday.
The Swiss government has called on the Swiss population to be vigilant because of Japanese beetles. Anyone who finds a suspicious beetle should catch it immediately and report it to the competent cantonal plant protection service.
