Due to the presence of blue algae, swimming was banned in Lake Haute-Sûre, announced the Water Management Administration on Friday.
All sites are affected by the ban. Any activities in the water are prohibited.
An elevated concentration of blue-green algae was detected in Lake Juessee in Herzberg am Harz (Göttingen district). Based on recent laboratory findings, the joint health department for the city and district of Göttingen has banned swimming in the lake until further notice.
Other activities in the water are also not allowed and it is also advised not to eat fish from there. Blue-green algae have been detected in the water.
