The author of the letter, “Drone Courtesy Appreciated” in the July 9 edition of Newport This Week is absolutely correct. Drone operations are regulated by FAA regulations. The FAA is the only government entity that controls the airspace. State and local government can only block where a drone can take off or land. The airspace belongs to the FAA.
