Kazakhstan Cuts Oil Production Following Drone Strikes on Black Sea Tankers
Kazakhstan has reduced crude oil production following drone strikes on commercial tankers at the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) terminal off Russia’s Black Sea coast, the country’s energy ministry announced Thursday. “Oil firms adjusted their daily output, causing a temporary drop in production volumes,” the ministry said in a statement.
Russia has charged the tank vessels with attacks on Ukraine, but the Ukrainian side has not commented on these charges.
The Ministry of Energy convened a technical discussion with the main operators of the fuel market on Thursday at 17:00, after the suspension of oil deliveries from Kazakhstan through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) system, the main route by which Romania imports crude oil. According to Digi24 information, the authorities look at all scenarios for fuel supply, including the use of strategic reserves, if the situation worsens.
