Drill rappers guilty of murdering 18-year-old who was shot dead
Two drill rappers were convicted with three others after a gang-linked shooting that prosecutors said began with a Snapchat row.
- On Monday, Emmanuel Popoola and Tayvon Etefia, both 18, were found guilty at the Old Bailey of murdering 18-year-old Keanu Harker in Enfield following a six-week trial.
- The killing stemmed from rivalry between the 3x3 gang and Get Money Gang, ignited by a Snapchat dispute where comments implied Popoola could not afford mobile data for his phone.
- Prosecutor Louise Oakley KC described how "The speed of the Sur-Ron bike that Emmanuel Popoola and Tayvon Etefia were on meant they gained ground on Keanu Harker very quickly," as Popoola fired three shots.
- Sentencing for Popoola and Etefia is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, and Friday, July 10, while Eliezer Mbaki, 25, Anais King, 19, and a 17-year-old youth were convicted of assisting an offender.
- Mr Harker's family urged young people to turn away from gang culture, stating, "Too many children are losing their lives and too many families are being left to suffer unimaginable heartbreak.
