Drill rappers guilty of murdering 18-year-old who was shot dead
Two drill rappers were convicted with three others after a gang-linked shooting that prosecutors said began with a Snapchat row.
On Monday, Emmanuel Popoola and Tayvon Etefia, both 18, were found guilty at the Old Bailey of murdering 18-year-old Keanu Harker in Enfield following a six-week trial.
The killing stemmed from rivalry between the 3x3 gang and Get Money Gang, ignited by a Snapchat dispute where comments implied Popoola could not afford mobile data for his phone.
Prosecutor Louise Oakley KC described how "The speed of the Sur-Ron bike that Emmanuel Popoola and Tayvon Etefia were on meant they gained ground on Keanu Harker very quickly," as Popoola fired three shots.
Sentencing for Popoola and Etefia is scheduled for Thursday, July 9, and Friday, July 10, while Eliezer Mbaki, 25, Anais King, 19, and a 17-year-old youth were convicted of assisting an offender.
Mr Harker's family urged young people to turn away from gang culture, stating, "Too many children are losing their lives and too many families are being left to suffer unimaginable heartbreak.
