- On Monday, June 15, 2026, the Defence Research and Development Organisation successfully flight-tested the indigenously developed Long Range Land Attack Cruise Missile from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha.
- Development efforts for the LRLACM involved various DRDO laboratories and Indian industry partners, with the Aeronautical Development Establishment , Bengaluru, acting as the nodal laboratory to support Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
- With a range of up to 1,500 km, the LRLACM features conventional and nuclear warhead compatibility and can loiter in the air before executing high-precision terminal phase strikes.
- Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and DRDO Chairman Rajesh Kumar Singh monitored the mission, with the Ministry of Defence stating, "The missile achieved all mission objectives, validating critical technologies and demonstrating India's growing long-range precision strike capability."
