For the third consecutive day, severe weather conditions are affecting Crete
The severe weather left extensive damage behind, resulting in the request for military assistance to deal with the situation.
Heavy rains and storms have caused flooding, landslides and serious damage in many areas of Crete. The Fire Department was called to 110 incidents, 23 people were rescued in Ferma and Makry Gialos, while 318 mm of rain was recorded in Xyloskalo, Chania. Crete remains in a Red Code state until Sunday, October 4.
