TEHRAN- Iran has called on BRICS judicial authorities to take concrete legal steps against those responsible for 'war crimes and crimes against humanity' committed during two wars of aggression against the Islamic Republic, arguing that international justice must not be subordinated to political power.
Iran's judiciary chief calls on BRICS to prosecute perpetrators of war crimes
The head of the judiciary said at a gathering of judicial heads of BRICS member countries: "BRICS members should first condemn the violation of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity in accordance with international standards, especially the United Nations Charter."
The president of the judiciary of the Islamic Republic of Iran urged the member states of the bloc to reject "international indifference" to these aggressions.
Speaking at the BRICS Chiefs of the Judiciary Summit in New Delhi, India, Iranian Judiciary Chief Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei described the military operations carried out by the US and Israeli administrations against his country as direct war crimes and crimes against humanity.
