Dr. Kenneth Pettine Announces New Scholarship for Undergraduate Students with Disabilities
The one-time award supports undergraduates with documented disabilities and requires a 750- to 1,000-word essay, officials said.
On Wednesday, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Kenneth Pettine announced the launch of a new scholarship for undergraduate students with disabilities in Loveland, Colorado, offering a one-time $1,000 award.
Inspired by his career as an orthopedic surgeon and founder of Paisley Laboratories, Pettine established the program to support students demonstrating resilience against physical or cognitive challenges.
Eligible applicants must be enrolled at an accredited United States institution with documented disability status and submit a 750- to 1,000-word essay by March 15, 2027.
A comprehensive review process will evaluate submissions based on authenticity, clarity of vision, and demonstrated perseverance; the selected recipient will be announced on April 15, 2027.
By investing in students who refuse to let challenges define their limits, the program aims to build a more inclusive academic landscape celebrating diverse perspectives and leadership potential.
