LIKE MANY northwest Ohioans, I want safer streets and secure neighborhoods, and families protected from crime. The contributing factors to crime are many, but leadership, nationally, and within our community, factors into the equation. Our representatives in government matter. I’m tired of soft-on-crime politicians pointing the finger at the police rather than holding criminals accountable.

Police in Sydney's northwest have launched a major crackdown on retail crime – Operation Percentile – and 116 people have been charged.
Police have carried out a week of action targeting gangs, organised crime groups and violent offenders across Merton.
Operation Haldor saw 26 warrants executed, 20 arrests, 16 offensive weapons seized and more than £27,000 worth of drugs recovered. Officers also secured three closure orders and identified vulnerable people being exploited through drug networks. The Met says the operation was aimed at making communities safer and tackling serious crime.
