Downtown Port Hope parking rates increasing February 17

Drivers in Port Hope will soon pay more to park in the downtown core. According to the Municipality of Port Hope, hourly rates at metered on street spaces and paid municipal lots will rise from one dollar to one dollar fifty beginning February 17. The change applies on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Parking will continue to be free in the evenings and on weekends. The municipality notes the last rate increase occurred 13 years ago.
