In a powerful kickoff to better health and nutrition, Douglass Early Childhood Learning Center launched into 2025 with two dynamic fitness challenges — Walk Across Texas (WAT) and Lighten Up East Texas (LUET)—rallying staff, parents, and community members in a shared journey toward wellness.

Locals travel almost 200K miles in Walk Across Texas program

With the help of local sponsors including Kerr County AgriLife Extension, The Center for Fitness, Atmos Energy and Kerrville Independent School District, area participants in the Walk Across Texas program have reached 196,739 miles.
