Nintendo Officially Announces Donkey Kong 64 for Switch Online
The 1999 platformer brings five playable Kongs, the DK Rap and four-player battle arenas to Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members.
- On June 4, Nintendo will add Donkey Kong 64 to the Nintendo Classics library for subscribers of Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack.
- Originally debuting in 1999, the platformer follows Donkey Kong as he attempts to save his homeland from King Rool, who traps the family on an Island to distract the hero.
- Players control five characters including Diddy Kong, Tiny Kong, Lanky Kong, Chunky Kong, and Donkey Kong, collecting Golden Bananas while exploring themed 3D stages and performing the Rap.
- Users can climb, swim, and hunt for upgrades in solo play or compete in four-player split-screen battle arenas on the Switch.
- Nintendo also revealed a cinematic take on Star Fox for the Next Switch, as the company continues expanding its library with GameCube titles like Mario Sunshine.
