Donations pour in for family of 13-year-old who drowned at Cultus Lake
The fundraiser, called Izzy, Forever 13, raised more than $13,000 in 20 hours to help the family with financial strains.
A GoFundMe fundraiser titled 'Izzy, Forever 13' was created Thursday for the family of 13-year-old Izzy, who drowned at Cultus Lake on August 8, raising more than $13,000 in 20 hours.
Izzy fell off her paddleboard after suffering a medical emergency at Entrance Bay on August 8; she was not wearing a life jacket during the incident.
The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team recovered Izzy's body on Monday, August 10, concluding search operations that began after her disappearance.
Rebecca Bosir, who organized the fundraiser, noted that family members Ashley, Dwayne, and Blake face heavy decisions and a long road of healing ahead.
Bosir expressed gratitude for the community response, stating, "We want to sincerely thank you for all of your love and support during this difficult time.
