Dolly Parton’s Broadway Musical Set To Open On Her 81st Birthday
The biomusical features Parton’s classic hits and new songs she wrote, after a successful Nashville premiere.
- On Tuesday, producers announced that Dolly: A True Original Musical will begin previews at Broadway's St. James Theatre on December 7, 2026, with an official opening on January 19, 2027, marking country-pop superstar Dolly Parton's 81st birthday.
- Directed by Bartlett Sher, the biomusical premiered in Nashville last summer before coming to Broadway, featuring a book co-written by Parton and Maria S. Schlatter, an Emmy-winning writer.
- Choreographer Mandy Moore and music supervisor Stephen Oremus lead the creative team, with the score featuring Parton's greatest hits including "Jolene," "Coat of Many Colors," and "9 to 5."
- Tickets become available to Capital One cardholders in a pre-sale starting Wednesday at 10 a.m. ET, followed by general ticket sales Friday at 10 a.m. ET.
