To the editor: If the article in The Jamestown Press on last week’s financial town meeting in any way reflects the word on the street, the meeting once again has shown the shortcomings of the town’s budget process. For so many years, the FTM generates a negligible amount of registered voters (about 3 percent). When queried as to why nobody shows up, the council’s sardonic reply is “because everyone approves of the budget.” Who are they kidding? …
