Ncuti Gatwa ’emotional’ to see Doctor Who Barbie doll
- Mattel is releasing Barbie dolls modeled after Doctor Who characters Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson at MCM London Comic Con this weekend at Excel London.
- This release marks Mattel's debut appearance at the event to celebrate the popular science fiction series and promote the new doll lineup.
- The Fifteenth Doctor doll shows Gatwa’s likeness dressed in a striped shirt, long brown jacket, and white trainers, while Gibson’s Ruby Sunday doll wears her character’s fur-trimmed jacket and red shirt.
- Gatwa called the moment "emotional, surreal, incredible" and said, "Barbie is iconic" and hopes children think, "I can do anything" when they see the doll.
- Starting Friday, the dolls can be pre-ordered through Mattel Creations and Amazon UK, with wider availability from late July at retailers such as Argos, Hamleys, and Harrods.
