Over 140 Types of Ready Meals Recalled by FSAI
IRELAND, JUL 22 – Nearly 200 ready meals were recalled after nine confirmed listeriosis cases and one death, targeting vulnerable groups like pregnant women and the elderly, Food Safety Authority of Ireland said.
- On Wednesday, 23 Jul 2025 the Food Safety Authority of Ireland recalled nearly 200 ready meals, due to Listeria monocytogenes risk.
- The manufacturer Ballymaguire Foods produced meals, which were sold under Aldi, Centra, SuperValu and Tesco.
- To date nine listeriosis cases and one death have been recorded, underscoring severity. The Health Protection Surveillance Centre reported these infections as of July 22, 2025.
- The FSAI also urged consumers to inspect and bin affected products for public safety.
- The national outbreak control team is probing the extensive outbreak, while Ballymaguire Foods suspended all output pending safety clearance.
