Iowa DNR reporting fish kill at Des Moines lake
DES MOINES, Iowa -- The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) said it's investigating a fish kill at a Des Moines lake. On Tuesday afternoon the DNR announced that it received reports last week of dead fish being seen in Dean Lake, located on the southeast side of Des Moines. After the complaint filed by the Greater East Region following the death of thousands of fish in the Ill, an investigation to determine the origin of this pollution is under way. But for fishermen in the area, the Colmar treatment plant, located upstream of the polluted area, is the main suspect.
