- Although the DNC identified the unauthorized transaction within minutes and immediately contacted Wells Fargo, they recovered only $7,000 of the $29,000 transferred, resulting in a $22,000 net loss.
- DNC spokesperson Mia Ehrenberg told NOTUS the transfer was a 'one-off mistake promptly caught and addressed,' and the employee responsible no longer works for the organization.
