DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Goes Global But Americans Miss Out, Australian Price Revealed – channelnews

DJI has launched its dual-lens Osmo Pocket 4P camera globally, including in Australia, while US creators are still missing out. The Chinese company has also released the camera across the UK, Europe and Canada following its initial launch in China, but has not announced US pricing or availability as it continues to face regulatory and product authorisation hurdles in the market. The Osmo Pocket 4P Standard Combo is available in Australia for A$959, while the Vlog Combo, which adds DJI’s FrameTap touchscreen remote, a Mic Mini 2 transmitter, mini tripod and larger carrying bag, costs A$1,099. The 230-gram camera introduces a dual-lens system led by a one-inch CMOS sensor and 20mm-equivalent f/2.0 wide-angle lens. A second 60mm-equivalent f/1.8 telephoto lens delivers 3x optical zoom and is designed for portraits, product shots and distant subjects without relying entirely on digital cropping. DJI claims the main camera can capture up to 17 stops of dynamic range using its new 10-bit D-Log 2 colour profile, giving creators greater flexibility when adjusting highlights, shadows and colours during post-production. The wide camera can record slow-motion footage at up to 4K resolution and 240 frames per second, while the telephoto camera reaches 4K at 200fps. Other features include upgraded ActiveTrack 8.0 subject tracking, 37-megapixel still photography, 107GB of built-in storage and a three-axis mechanical gimbal. DJI claims the Pocket 4P offers up to 210 minutes of battery life and can recharge from zero to 80% in 18 minutes. USB 3.1 connectivity supports file transfer speeds of up to 800MB per second. The Osmo Pocket 4P is currently available in black, with a white version expected to arrive later.
