Tree Falls On Couple At Disneyland
Strong winds caused a large tree to fall on two guests at Disneyland, who sustained minor grazes and were treated and released by First Aid, officials said.
- On Tuesday, Feb. 17 a ficus tree snapped and fell at Disneyland's Plaza Inn patio, striking Nevada couple LeWanda and Mark Joseph while they sat at a table.
- Kimberly Barnwell-Joe said it was `crazy windy` at Disneyland that night, and rain left the Plaza Inn patio unoccupied as the tree snapped and fell.
- Eyewitnesses reported rescuing visitors from beneath the tree, and the Disney Fire Department worked with park teams and staff to clear the site overnight.
- Two guests received minor treatment and were released by Disneyland First Aid, located steps from the fall site, with medical staff providing quick on-site care.
- Falling trees have previously injured visitors at Disneyland, including a 2001 fall near the Golden Horseshoe Revue that injured 20 and a 2008 branch fall that hurt five, according to the Orange County Register.

Disneyland Resort is setting the record straight following reports claiming a tree fell on top of a visitor amid Southern California’s stormy Tuesday night.
