The warm orange vigilance was lifted this Tuesday in the last six departments of the South-East concerned, but the local temperature level, which is still high, does not allow the official release at national level of this period of long heat of 21 days.
The West and Ile-de-France will return in yellow or green on Sunday, while the strong heats will persist in the southeast quarter. Sometimes violent thunderstorms, accompanied by hail and gusts of up to 90 km/h, are also expected in the southwest.
In its 16-hour bulletin, Météo-France notes that a stormy deterioration is taking place and that less warm ocean air is progressing in the west.
The drop in temperatures since Thursday-Friday's peak is expected to be accompanied by thunderstorms in southwestern France.
