Five mayors of Venezuela arrested for terrorism, drug trafficking and corruption

The Minister of the Interior, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, gave a press conference on Friday, April 4, and expanded on details of Operation Catatumbo Lightning and confirmed the arrest of Indira Fernández, mayor of the Guajira municipality in Zulia state. He emphasized that with Fernández's arrest, seven mayors have been detained and allegedly linked to various crimes, including corruption and drug trafficking.
