A large majority of the bars went on strike from Tuesday 31 March to denounce Gérald Darmanin's bill on criminal justice. Christophe Bayle, the president of the Conference of Batniers, explained to "Liberation" how the extension of the "coupible plea" to crimes worries lawyers.
On April 6, lawyers from the Dijon bar will begin an unlimited strike of all criminal activities to protest against the Darmanin bill which wants to institute a criminal “guilty plea” and modify the system of nullities of criminal procedure.
