- The couple, Bano Bibi and Ehsan Ullah, were shot dead three days before Eid ul Adha following a local tribal jirga order, and the case was registered under murder and terrorism laws amid ongoing police raids.
- A widely shared video depicted the brutal murder of a couple in a remote desert, revealing the woman was struck by seven gunshots and the man by nine, triggering public outrage and resulting in multiple arrests, including that of the victim’s mother, Gul Jan.
- Prominent religious leaders urged authorities and the courts to hold all responsible parties accountable, stressing that unjust killings cannot be pardoned under Sharia law, even if forgiveness is sought by family members. Meanwhile, the Balochistan Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution condemning honour killings as barbaric acts that contradict the region’s cultural, religious, and moral values.
