Crews have dug a trench and expanded soil removal as officials say the diesel appears contained and no impacts have been seen beyond it.
- On July 22, a transport truck collided with a bison on Highway 97 northwest of Coal River, releasing diesel with a potential volume of up to 50,000 litres near the B.C.-Yukon border.
- Crews have dug a trench to protect a nearby waterway from migrating diesel, which appears contained within the recovery area according to a July 29 update from the Parks Ministry.
- Operations to remove contaminated Soil have expanded into a forested area where diesel pooled, following the removal of both trailers from the crash site by July 27.
