Practical Magic 2: Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock Reunite in Spellbinding First Look
WASHINGTON DC, JUL 11 – The sequel reunites original stars Kidman, Bullock, Wiest, and Channing with new cast members, continuing the Owens family's magical legacy based on Alice Hoffman's novels.
- On July 19, 2025, in Los Angeles, Practical Magic 2 began filming with Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock reprising their roles, and it is set for a September 18, 2026, release.
- Since its 1998 release, Practical Magic has cultivated an ardent cult following, and last year Warner Bros. announced a sequel starring Bullock and Kidman.
- According to a press release, Wiest and Channing will return as Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny, while Lee Pace, Xolo Maridueña, and Solly McLeod join the cast. The ensemble expands with these new and returning actors.
- Despite offering to reprise her part, Wood is absent, and Joey King has secured the role of Sally’s daughter, according to sources.
- Plot and character details remain under wraps ahead of the September 18, 2026 release, as Susanne Bier is at the helm, production is filming in London, and the film prepares for its debut.
