- Prompted by erratic driving, troopers stopped the vehicle for weaving out of its lane and failure to signal, then administered a breath test showing a BAC of 0.09, surpassing the legal limit of 0.08.
- As a result, the case was forwarded to the Maplewood city prosecutor’s office on suspicion of third-degree DWI, marking his second arrest for suspected drunken driving as a legislator.
- Meanwhile, Sen. Tou Xiong apologized in a Thursday statement, saying he takes full responsibility and has begun discussing the incident with his family and Senate colleagues.
