Detroit Lions Reveal 'Rivalries' Uniforms that Will Be Worn Later This Season
On Tuesday, August 25, 2026, Nike unveiled eight new 'Rivalries' uniforms for the NFL, expanding the program to include all teams in the NFC North and AFC South divisions.
Nike launched the Rivalries series in 2025 with AFC East and NFC West clubs to celebrate divisional rivalries through bespoke designs highlighting team history and regional culture.
Designs feature unique cultural nods: the Green Bay Packers incorporate stock-certificate-inspired details and alabaster tones honoring public ownership, while the Detroit Lions pair 'Defend the Den' with carbon-fiber-inspired numbers referencing automotive heritage.
Teams will debut uniforms during designated home games against divisional opponents, keeping the gear in their rotation for three years; merchandise becomes available for purchase on September 1.
The league plans to complete the Rivalries program in 2027 and 2028, adding the final eight teams to create a full-league collection following this season's 16-team expansion.
