The KazMunayGas (KMG) company in Kazakhstan and Lukoil in Russia, recently fined by the US, continued to work on joint projects in accordance with contractual obligations, reported on March by the Russian agency Interfax reading an official in Kazakhstan.
Despite sanctions imposed by the United States, Kazakh company KazMunayGas and Russian company Lukoil continue to collaborate on joint projects. Lukoil has stakes in the Tengiz and Karachaganak oil fields, as well as in the Caspian Pipeline Consortium, a major route through which Kazakh oil is exported through the Russian port of Novorossiisk.
